Terms & Conditions
1. About these Terms
These Terms are a general-information statement of the rules for using the Portal. They are not legal advice. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy that cannot be excluded under Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), where it applies.
2. Eligibility and access
- The Portal is for cleaners, subcontractors and other personnel engaged or invited by BLC.
- Access is by invitation. You must use the activation/invite link sent to you to set up your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to perform work in Australia.
- Access may be limited, suspended or revoked at any time by BLC or Canvas ICT, including for security, compliance, conduct, inactivity or business reasons.
3. Account security and permitted use
- Keep your sign-in credentials (Firebase login, Google account, email/password) confidential.
- Do not share your invite link, login, or one-time codes with anyone, including other cleaners.
- Only access your own contractor records and the data you are authorised to see.
- Use the Portal honestly and for its intended purpose (job acceptance, check-in/check-out, RCTI/invoice viewing, training, support messages).
- Do not attempt to scrape, copy in bulk, reverse-engineer, probe, overload or attack the Portal or its underlying systems.
- Do not introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with other users.
- Do not misuse customer data. Customer contact details, addresses and notes are confidential and provided only to perform the assigned job.
- Report inaccurate records, suspected security incidents, or unfamiliar account activity to BLC promptly.
4. Independent contractor relationship
Access to the Portal does not, by itself, create an employment relationship, partnership, agency, joint venture, franchise, guaranteed work arrangement, or exclusivity between you and BLC, Canvas Payroll or Canvas ICT. The legal nature of your engagement is governed by the separate written contractor agreement, statement of work, RCTI arrangement, or other arrangement that applies between you and BLC. Independent contractors have different rights and obligations from employees under Australian law.
5. No guarantee of work, income or outcome
- The Portal lists jobs that may be available; appearing in the Portal does not guarantee allocation, acceptance, hours, income or continued engagement.
- Job allocations, cancellations and rescheduling can occur and are managed by BLC operations.
- Payment timing and amounts are governed by the separate RCTI/payment terms and the work actually performed, verified and approved.
6. Portal availability ("as is" / "as available")
The Portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim to keep it working reliably, but the Portal may experience delays, errors, outages, planned maintenance, third-party dependency failures (for example Google sign-in, email/SMS providers, hosting providers), or display data that is briefly out of date. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information shown is complete or accurate at every moment.
7. Service performance not provided through the Portal
Canvas Payroll and Canvas ICT provide the technology platform. They are not responsible for cleaning-service performance, on-site conduct, property conditions, bond/agency decisions, customer disputes, payment disputes, insurance matters or third-party conduct, all of which are matters between the contractor, BLC and the customer (or other relevant parties).
8. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies the application of the Australian Consumer Law or any other non-excludable consumer guarantee, right or remedy. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Canvas ICT, Canvas Payroll and BLC are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of expected work, or loss or corruption of data arising from your use of the Portal.
- Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the affected service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
9. Termination and suspension
Access to the Portal may be suspended or terminated at any time, with or without notice, including for breach of these Terms, security concerns, end of engagement, or operational reasons. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before termination, or any provisions that by their nature should survive (for example, confidentiality, limitation of liability, and the Privacy obligations explained in the Privacy Policy).
10. Third-party services and links
The Portal relies on third-party services (for example Firebase Authentication, hosting providers, email/SMS providers, payment/RCTI tooling, mapping). Use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Links from the Portal to external sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for the content of external sites.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change at the top of this page. Continued use of the Portal after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
